If you're near Dixie Road, try the Bulk Barn in Dixie Value Mall.
The last time I was there, they were selling a decent-sized bag for .99.

I've found pork rinds in both these grocery stores. I usually buy 4-8 bags at a time so I don't run out at home. Love them with grated cheese melted and dipped in sour cream. Just like nachos with out the carbs!

I bought some today in the Bulk Barn in Don Mills Plaza. They were Piggy's brand (by Trophy Foods of Mississauga) and they had both Bar-B-Q and plain flavours for $1.09 Can.

Wait a second.....:)
Could you explain the grated cheese thing? Are you saying that you can actually put some grated cheese on top of them and heat them up???
Wow....it sounds really yummy!!! I'll have to try it!

Yes, I put my pork rinds on a safe microwave plate (paper) and hand grate cheddar cheese on them and nuke for about 30 seconds until cheese is melted and gooey. Then I dip in the sour cream. Yum yum - this is my new snack instead of potato chips.

hi Ummyasin,
Sharon posted a recipe for cheese chips ... basically you melt cheese in the microwave till crisp, drain on paper towels, and devour. click here to read it (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=36045#post36045)
hope this helps .. :)

Actually, there is such a thing as as 'chicken rinds' although they are not called that.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you what they are called, because it's in a language I don't know.
Basically, a work friend (who is no longer employed with my company unfortunately) is Philipino and shops at a grocery store that caters to Philipino foods. She brought me in a bag once, and downed the entire thing in a sitting. She also gave me a bag of the pork variety. They are similar, but a little different.
They were delish!
I'll see if I can find some other Philipino's around that know what this product is, and what it's called.
But unless you're near a Philipino grocery store, you're probably out of luck.
To add about buying pork rinds in Toronto, I always keep an eye out for them when I go in convenience stores. I haven't seen (but wasn't really looking for them) in local grocery stores like Dominion (I shop at the one in Don Mills!) because I know the convenience stores near my home have them, and I just stop in and buy when necessary.
To be honest, I'm a PR fanatic. None of my friends can believe I like them, so I feel better I'm not the only one in the world!

I believe these pork rinds are known in the UK as "pork scratchings". I had never thought of melting cheese on them, but now I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the idea, Sylvie P.

hi Ummyasin62! i've made chicken rinds before, quite by accident! i had deli bbq chicken and didn't like the limp skin. i stuck all the skin in the microwave between paper towels. it came out so crispy, just like pork rinds only tastier. maybe you could ask a butcher to save chicken skins for you when he's making his skinless, boneless chicken breasts and thighs! just a thought!:D

Another good idea. What a lot you can learn, just browsing around these boards!

Here in the north there are 2 companies available, old dutch and the no- name brand . Truthfully the no- name brand are the best. Much more fluffy and tasty, with none of the too hard to eat pieces. The cost is pretty high on average either brand will set you back 2.00 per bag.
We have put them through the food processer and used them in place of bread crumbs for chicken fingers and fish and it works.
i have choosen not to eat them on a regular basis rather only for parties where everyone else is eating chips and ............the frustrating thing is most people love them and eat chips and pork rinds. Im funny that way i will share with a fellow low carber but not a eat everything person.:D

Don't forget to read the labels on the port rind bags because I've found some that have msg among other nasties. Look for bags with only pork rinds and salt if you can help it.

I was feeling kinda bad until I read your post.
I dont like to share my LC treats with the"eat and buy whatever your heart desires from the corner store people".My son thinks I am selfish but I really dont think so.It is more expensive and harder to get my special treats!
He actually gets bothered when I am eating a piece of LC chocolate or a piece of LC pizza .He says its not fair that I get to eat such good things all the time.lol.Meanwhile he orders out all the time and gets chips and candy and ice cream and donuts...
To be honest, I do think my stuff is better.Even my regular meals.I told him if he wants some he has to join me and LC! :D
Oh yeah, I am addicted to pork rinds and would take them over any chips, popcorn or cheezie any time!

I have found prok rinds at both Fortinos and Highland Farms.
Watch out for the BBQ as they contain sugar!
