Hi, I got to try Virgin Cola this weekend...like it, but thought it seemed a little "flat" compared to Diet Pepsi, or Coke. Is this the way it is, or did I get a "flat" bottle??

Sharon,
I've tried a couple of bottles and to me it is a bit flatter than the others, but I prefer that.
However, my sister doesn't like the Virgin Cola for exactly that reason. She is a Diet Pepsi fan and thought the Virgin Cola horrible because she said it was flat.

I also like my cola a little flat.
I am sorry but I wasn't paying attention to previous discussions of Virgin Cola. Why is it preferable to Pepsi or Coke? Is it because it isn't sweetened with aspertime? If that is the case I will definitely give it a try.
I have cut my consumption of pop because of the aspertime and I am really missing it.
Wendy.

I think soda type drinks are more than a matter of taste. I won't go as far as calling it a state of mind :p but look at the Pepsi vs. Coke debate. There are hard-core fans for each brand who won't even dream of tasting the other one. It's like a cult thing.
Being an espresso fanatic, it's like me thinking of getting some Starbuck coffee. What a truely disturbing thought :)

Virgin diet cola is made with sucralose (Splenda). I think it tastes a little flat too, I've tried it a few different times and it's always been a little flat tasting - maybe they just have a bad bottle capping machine!

My daughter brought me some Virgin Cola (we don't have any 7-Eleven stores in my area (Barrie, ON). I wanted the coke flavour but they wer all out. She brought me some orange and cream soda and some lime flavour. I only tried the orange which I thought was too sweet.
I want to try the cola (coke) flavour.
Slim Jones lime cola is like a milder version of coke but I can't find it anywhere and have given up trying to find it.

Norma, are you sure those flavours were diet? I thought they only had diet cola. Maybe I'm wrong!

Deirdre,
It says glucose on the lable, no sugar so that would be diet right?
Virgin Cola has a number of flavours, and they have a website too.

Norma, Norma, Norma, NORMA :D
You are diabetic, blood glucose = blood sugar, right??
This must be a case of can't see the forest for the trees. LOL
Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, honest I don't. The suffix "ose" means sugar, so whenever you read a label and you see an OSE word, BINGO!
For anybody else who might have forgotten, here's a list of common sugars found in foods - sucrose (table sugar), dextrose, glucose, fructose, lactose, maltose....
- cane sugar products include - white & brown sugar, turbinado, succanat, demerrara, molasses, cane syrup, white syrup
- fructose is a very concentrated sugar found in fruits, also is the primary sweet source in honey, and concentrated fruit juices (beware jams claiming no sugar added, but made with concentrated grape or apple juice!!! full of carbs & fructose)
- maple syrup & sugar, corn syrup (mostly dextrose), rice syrup and malt syrup (barley)
***ABOUT Sucralose or Splenda - yes it ends in OSE, (actually it's LOSE), because it is made from real sugar but has no calories or carbs.
Hope this has been helpful,
Doreen

Hi, yes I knew about the ose things but Splenda has 6 mg/ sucralose per tsp. So what's the difference between ose and lose? Duhhhh (real blonde here) :)

Hi Norma,
What are the other ingredients? And does it list carb count? I think some "low-sugar" products may add some sugar like fructose plus aspartame.
