Was just flicking through the Sun Newspaper and ive come across a small article that states:-

I'm sure they will have thier own agenda, so make sure that you have yours as well and write down beforehand all the points you want to get across. They may well ignore them, but at least you will have tried.

it would take a lot longer than 24 hours for a makeover,i need implants and a lot of cement for a start!
have to make do with a visit to the hairdressers in the morning-hi and low lights touch up, and then on to the shopping.the reporter said "wear something" summery",shed better not mean a dress.never worn a dress since i got married 26 years ago.i,m a jeans and t-shirt girl.might go for some trousers and a dressy top(yuk).bet i feel a right berk!mind, i won,t let the side down, i.ll cover the tats.
there again, this is the sun we,re talking about,do you think they would like to see a 45 year old diabetic grandmother with tattoos wearing ketosix across the boobs?

Hi Christine, was it Jane Barnes that interviewed you. I thought that she had a pleasant manner. Hope I remembered everything of importance.

When I got home I found a message from the photographer who said could he come earlier, he was scheduled for 7 pm, so said yes and he arrived around 5 45. Took some photos and went about an hour later. No sooner had he gone than a lady knocked on my door to do my hair and make up for the photo shoot. So we had an interesting discussion about what had happened. Anyway she went away and phoned and in the end it was decided that she would do my make up and the photographer would have to come back. What fun. So I had my makeup done and then had more photos taken. The lady from the Sun rang up during this time so she ended up interviewing me around 8 20 rather than 6 30 pm as orgininally planned. Good job I was not doing anything else. Had a good positive chat about Atkins and low carbing in general. Hope I got all the good points across. Forgot to mention the importance of drinking water! Wonder when the article will run and if I will feature in it at all?

So Christine make sure that the two arrive together and don't get put off by one. You will also probably need one of your old style outfits so you can show how much weight you have lost. The photographers and make up people are free lance, so they need to be all coordinated together!!!! Enjoy being pampered. I've got some mascara and lipstick out of it. I certainly look a bit different. Very large eyes!

Now all we have to do is watch and wait! Who can spot the article first.

Looked at what you said about clothes. I was told not to wear black. Wore trousers and figure hugging top to show off the developing curves! Your body shows off better in that rather than a dress. Skirts are for work!

i got my interview at 6.45 instead of 6 o clock. jane said she was running late. the photos are now being done tomorrow instead of sunday.
knowing my luck the makeup lady will turn up on sunday!

I did an article in take a break or thats life (both sister companys) and honestly i couldnt wait to get the girl out of my house. when the article went to print (meant to be about my gastric bypass!!) it was more about me the food gobling monster, and vanessa feltz, who I hadnt even mentioned during the interview!! looking back I wish I had never done it.

Hi Lynda, great to hear that they are going to talk to you to.

When I emailed Jane with my early photo yesterday, after I had spoken to her she said that she was compiling a number of case studies for her editor. It will then be up to her to decide what case studies she wants to run, or how to use extracts from all the articles, so none of us may even get a mention! Aren't I cheerful!

They are interested in how you got into low carbing, any problems you had at at the beginning, your age, wieght loss to date, your general view. I also said about the other positive effects I got that were non weight loss. Want to know how it effects your social life, whether partners are supportive, etc. Are you doing it with a friend, etc. Did not even ask if I read the Sun! I get the fact they are looking for an informative article, whether it will have that slant or not remains to be seen.

Don't forget to mention how important water is. I forgot about all the positive things that I can now do that I could not before.

Enjoy the chat, it won't be that bad!

Hey Lynda, 10 bucks, that's high class! A girl I used to work with a few years ago went into the pub business. The first one the brewery gave them was a real dive on Scotswood Road in the west of Newcastle. One night, they went to put a crate of empties out the back and heard a rustling noise coming from an old disused garage near-by. When they went to check out what it was, there was "Blackpool Jackie" with one of her clients. It turned out that she charged the price of a bottle of Newcastle brown ale! Hi christine go to profile at top of the page click on that it should bring up more options going across the page go into signature and you can add what you want there from your clickable smilies and standard smilies. you can also go into avatar and add little pictures under your name!! there are standard ones there or you can use a picture of yourself or download some from the internet!!

Had My interview today went okay and I stated my diet is a hell of a lot more heathly now since starting Atkins compared to my previous diet of pizza crisps and tubs and tubs of ben and jerrys ice cream!!!

well good on you for all being interviewed, Im far too much of a coward, and as Ive only been low carbing for a couple of weeks dont think I could have really helped the cause much !!

Ive become amazed at how many people react in horror when you tell them you are following the atkins plan. They have definately been brainwashed to think its unhealthy and bad for you !! Well I can honestly say that even in this short lenght of time ive never felt better !!

So far managed to convert two people in my office to give it a go , once they realise what its really about they are dead keen. Anyway enough from me guess Im preaching to the converted here !!

Looking forward to reading the interviews during the week, gonna have to remember to keep asking one of my colleagues to lend me his paper, cos I dont buy the Sun - honest !

lisa,i sometimes feel that i,ve argued with everybody in this country at some point,doctors,nurses,mam,friends etc but i proved them wrong in the end.i stopped preaching a long time ago,i just got sick of hearing all the negative things that they said.i know l-c works and works well and if we get our stories in the paper and it helps just one person,it will be worthit.
i visited my mam this morning and shes just had her blood lipid results.cholesterol-7.guess what diet the drs put her on.its so sad.i did try but got accused of "being a smart alec and thinking i know more than the doc".just what do you do?

You have my every sympathy Christine. Dealing with doctors is, quite frankly, a living hell at times... I ended up losing my incapacity benefit because I simply couldn't bear to let another one near me. This from the one set of people you're meant to be able to rely on to help you.

Well... their "help" put me in a wheelchair for over a year. I was a professional dancer before that. Thanks guys, but I'll do it my way...

I'm very lucky... my mother's response to me suggesting she try the precise opposite of the doctor's instructions was "I'd trust your opinion and advice over a doctor's any day..."

Its such a shame your mum won't listen to you... here's hoping she comes around in time though. Preferably short enough time to minimise the damage of the diet she's on right now.

Its interested what you said about your mum and her cholestrol levels. My dad died ( aged 55) suddenly last sept of a heart attack, no warning no nothing. He always followed a strict low fat, low cholestrol diet ( his dad also died of a HA) and he seemed pretty healthy. However, It turned out that when I read the post mortem, his heart was totally clogged with cholestrol, now Im no doctor and I know these things can be hereditary etc etc but I too am sick of reading these reports about how low fat is the way to go - didnt help him, in the slightest !! I dont mean to scare anyone with this, but people need to realise that low fat isnt the answer to everything !!

Because, my dad died in this way, i had my levels checked, luckily they were normal, but give it a few months ( and i will still be on this in few months, cos I cant ever imagine going back to eating the way I did ) and I will have them tested again, whats the betting they are the same, or even gone down further !!!!!!!!

So hurrah for us !!!!

Hello peeps Im back!! (thinks I am the terminator!!)
We have computer fixed and a fire wall installed now! There is a bad virus going about, via the internet wich effect all window programmams (apple mac are safe) its taken since last night 5ish to sort the computer wouldnt stay on long enough to sort the problem, so all users beware!!!
Sun photos went ok!! although I got a big sick standing like a chesire cat in heat!!

My virus scan update has been going mad the last couple of days, i've had to up date about 5 times!!

god its a git!! I really thought I had knackered the computer and was going to have to pay to get the hard drive cleaned and re-installed.
I only found out it was a virus because my home computer dosn't have broad band (just the lap top) so i was trying to get it working with bb and couldnt so rang ntl, and explained what had happened, and then it became apparant, some sad loser with nowt better to do is sat making bloody virsus to worry the hell out of people like me who havent got much of a clue about computers!!

It would be interesting to know how many case studies they put together as sending photographers round will have cost them quite a bit. Surprised that only 2 people have featured. They might of course have decided to lay low for a few days given all the bad press on Wednesday! Who knows what goes on in the minds of the press!

No they printed a few stories but we never saw the light of day (thank gawd) I cant remember why the decided not to run the story, I think it had something to do with all the bad press Low Carbing was getting at the time, my how times are changing who would have thought we would actually be able to buy low carb products, now we can, lets hope we get an even bigger and cheaper selction SOON!!
