Hi Gemma
The water tastes better tah ever. I have carb Cooler which is 0 carb powder that you put into water. It tastes soooo good. It also rehydrates you. I like lots of crushed ice too. How is your induction going?

Hi Gemma
If it's any comfort, I'm in a very hot house, which I'm about to move from, so have to keep the windows shut to stop my cat getting out and have to stay in because I'm packing like a lunatic! :daze: Suffice to say the answer is I'm not coping with the heatwave... at all!
That said, I'm also finding its doing wonders for my water intake! ;)
As for iced cream... hmm. Perhaps you could add some natural vanilla essence (carb content?) to whipped double cream and part freeze that as a good alternative?
Alternatively, you could make a rhubarb fool (without the sugar, so make sure its sweet rhubarb to begin with!) and stick that in the freezer for rhubarb ice cream. :yum:
Or maybe add a squeeze of lime juice to ordinary water and freeze little cubes of it to suck when you need cooling down? Freezing cooked (but not mushy!) chunks of rhubarb would also make nice iced treats.
Hope those help!
The biggest problems I've been having is establishing what symptoms go with what... I have chronic ME, I'm borderline diabetic, I'm on induction, and its like a sauna in here...!
But for all the pins and needles, dizzy spells, bouts of nausea, painful legs, waves of pure exhaustion, lightheadedness, etc, etc, etc... I'm happy to say I still feel better than I have in over a decade!
:cheer:

Hi Gemma
Think we spoke on the Uk buddy board. Well this is the end of my second week and all going well so far. Im finding it pretty easy at the moment , keep worrying that I cant be doing it right, cos Im never hungry, and am not craving sweet stuff ( which is amazing for me !!!) But I must be doing ok cos I lost 10lb last week and I weigh myself again tomorrow morning so will will have to wait and see what they have to say !!!
Glad to hear you are getting on ok, lets hope for both of us the weight drops soon and nice and quick ha ha keep looking in my wardrobe, and i have so many nice clothers that I cant get into - oh well by Christmas perhaps I will.
take care and speak soon

Hi all, did anyone else spot the papers - saying hot weather and Atkins are dangerous :D
Basically becuase you might not be drinking enough water or eating too much protein (which your body finds harder to digest and therefore bumps up your temp..) you might overheat, they suggest eating a few carbs until the weather cools down!!
Heh - never mind they will try anything..
I am luckily in a air con office - which is pretty bliss - although sunny in my back garden sounds even better!
I too have just eaten salad, coleslaw and tomato and basil chicken for lunch - yum... just need to find a good maranade type recipe for it :D
Only day 2 of induction so nothing to tell yet :D
Have a good day no

It's getting hot again here after two cold (yes COLD!!) days here. The heat makes it hard to exercise but boy does the water slip down :)
My parents paid a quick visit this am just to warn me that they'd seen morning TV and it's really dangerous to do Atkins right now, I pointed out that as I'm drinking around 5 litres of water a day I think I'll be fine, talk about scare-mongering.
