i'm in induction right now and sometimes I eat b/c i can. For instance, the other night i had TWO pieces of grill chicken when I was full after one or, also, I'll snack on some cheese late at night even when Im nothungry just b/c i feel like it and it has no carbs. The extra stuff I eat has no carbs, so I can't imagine that I'd gain weight. But will it slow down the losing process? Is this bad?

Hiya Kimbo,
It may slow you down if you keep eating even when not hungry. Remember that Dr A said to eat until you are full but not stuffed. Excess calories will always lead to weight gain, no matter what.
I suspect that for some of us we need to get past treating food as "recreation" instead of fuel. Perhaps you can think up some distracting ideas for next time you just feel like eating, but are not really hungry.
But do eat when you are hungry! :)
All the best!

Only eat when you are hungry.. if you're doing this because youre bored, try drinking some tea sweetened with splenda, or have some more water. Yum.. I know.. but it's better than the extra (and unnecessary calories).

One trick I use when I'm bored and feel like eating is to chew sugar-free gum. It really does help me.

If you notice yourself not losing weight then you're eating too much. A lot of people have to moderate their food intake while low carbing.. some people don't. USe your measuring tape - but remember to keep your monthly cycle in mind when weighing and measuring... because if you're like most women you'll see a gain in weight and inches just before your period whcih is not food related. If you're interested in this kind of thing check out www.fitday.com and keep a journal
