Hello All!

Just started Induction today...feeling so-so, have a killer headache. I'm not used to eating so early in the morning! What vitiman(s) should I be taking???? I remember reading something in the book about not taking an all in one. I left the book at home today and wanted to go out at lunch to get my vitimans; so any help would be appreciated! TIA!

Hi GG! I know all about that killer headache. It decided to be my "friend" until I was into induction for about a week. It varies but you will feel better soon. I promise that it will get better! As far as vitiamins you can't go wrong with the Atkins supplements. That being said, my hubby has been out of work for almost 6 months due to 2 major surgeries and our budget doesn't allow for them. I personally take a multi from GNC along with some other supplements. I started off on One A Day and I notice that several people take Centrum. Can't really say which ones are best but that's my 2 cents worth. Hang in there and good luck. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel in a few days. Bye bye hunger and cravings!

By the way, I don't eat in the morning. You mentioned that you don't like to eat early. I do Atkins but in the Carbohydrate Addicts book (very similar) they recommend that you not eat breakfast if you aren't hungry. That is the one time of day I am not hungry. They said just drink coffee if you want. So I no longer eat breakfast and don't miss it. A lot of people who aren't hungry and eat anyway find that forcing themselves to eat breakfast actually makes you hungry!! For me it does. If I eat breakfast it MAKES me hungry. I find I don't even get hungry until aroun 2 pm. This is only me though. I think you should give yourself permission to not eat breakfast unless you are hungry. I have been learning to pay attention to when I am reallly hungry and it is working for me. 52 pounds so far and breakfast is a distant memory...

I've been taking the GNC Ultra Mega with Iron Vitamins for Women for years - they're wonderful!! They really help me to wake up by providing me with a pick-me-up first thing in the morning. I also have to say that they provide all the essential nutrients that women need. Did you know that there have been studies done that show that people who take Selenium don't get cancer? I'll have to hunt down this study, but I definitely look for Selenium, Iron, and Folic Acid in all my vitamins - very important for women.
I even took the GNC Prenatal Vitamins when I was pregnant last year. I topped out at 255 during my pregnancy, but remarkably, I didn't have any sugar problems or anemia for the entire pregnancy. I was pretty anemic during my first pregnancy, so I was surprised to discover that it wasn't a problem the second time around - ecspecially considering I wa 12 years older this last time around. I definitely attribute that to the GNC vitamins. Of course you can buy these vitamins at GNC stores - they often have buy 1 get 1 free promotions on these. Since I live overseas, then I just buy them at drugstore.com
I really can't recommend these vitamins enough - kudos to GNC !
