I just noticed something the past 2 days. I am now having more cravings for meat and less for sweets.

It's not to say I don't have any for sweets at all. But when I'm sitting there watching t.v. or working on my computer and I get a craving I'm thinking of steak, or a big old juicy hamburger patty with some mozzerella cheese on it...LOL...and not a big bowl of ice cream, or a 1 pound bag of orange slices *which were my favorites*.

Is this something everyone experiences, is this a normal progession of the diet?

Good for you. I crave cheese when I am doing "boring" stuff. I used to crave pretzels, so maybe it is a normal thing.

Craving the things you can eat has got to be a good thing. I have noticed my cravings for sweets and breads really drops when I get into the diet. I've also noticed that after I cheat... those hunger pains really show up. I've not been 'hungry' on this diet very often. But if I have chips or something about three hours later I feel starved. Now that I recognize what's going on, it's a lot easier to ignore those hungry feelings and tell myself it's just those darned carbos I ate.

This was a fun thread to read!

I had a similar experience lately, I was talking to my husband making a grocery list and I had an unexplicable craving for GREEN BEANS. I have never craved green beans in my entire life before! In fact before that I hadn't eaten them for years.

Well better that than craving chips!

I found this great cheese that has a sweetness to it. . .subtle sweet is so much easier to taste now. . .it's made by www.kerrygold.com it's called 'dubliner' cheese. . .honkin' yummy. . .crave a couple of slices of that and when I go. . eggs for breakfast AGAIN! I cut a few pieces of cheese and grab some blueberries. . .redawn:)

The same thing happened to me. I avoided all sweets for the first two weeks (even lc ones) and now I hardly ever crave anything sweet. I crave a good steak or sometimes cheese.

I just finished phase 1 of South Beach Diet (induction) and am totally psyched that I can have FRUIT and yogurt. I went to the market today and loaded up. When I think of things like donuts and chips, I think Trans Fats!!! This helps to not crave them.
