Okay, so I am getting married in December, and I don't want to wear a Mumu!!

I already go to curves 4 days a week, and I am doing the Atkins diet (almost) religously!

Does anyone have any suggestions on other things I can do. It's like 110 degrees outside so walking and riding a bike are not really options I can do yet, but as soon as it cools down., I plan to start walking every night.

What about a stationary bike or a treadmill at home? Those are my two most common forms of exercise.

How about an exercise tape? Something like Pilates or Yoga at home would definitely tone but isn't overly active. Good luck!

Congratulations!!!

I have heard Curves is good. I haven't gone but have read about the program. I prefer exercising at home, that's the main reason I haven't checked them out. I agree that maybe some more cardio with walking or a video, and perhaps yoga and stretching daily.

Keep it up and before you know it you will be a buff babe!!

Do you know if libraries carry those videos so I can check them out before I buy them? I am willing to try anything. I even got my abswing out of the closet and dusted it off. LOL

I didn't think I could do anything before I finished my coffee, but I'm discovering that it's really quite nice outside at 6:30 AM. I'm in NC; it's hot AND humid but daily walking is making a difference.

I go to Curves, but I also use Body Flex. It has definitely sped up the loss of inches. It's not difficult at all and it only takes 20 min. or so for the entire workout. Maybe the library will have a copy to borrow (BTW- borrowing from the library is an excellent idea).

Who knows where you'll be in December-- your progress thus far is wonderful. I don't see any mumu's in your future. ;)

Happy LCing!

Can you swim or do water aerobics?

I don't know if there is any place to swim or do water arobics near my new house. I will look into it as soon as I get settled. (I am moving today and tomorrow)

Thanks for all of the good advise. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Thanks for the encouragement and the congrats.

I moved in to my new place, and today I am going tothe curves which is 4 blocks from my house. Hopefully one of those ladies will know what else is around. Also, last night I found there is a park 2 blocks from the house, so I walked with my son over to the park and let him play.

My fiance and I also plan on taking my son to the zoo this weekend and walking all around there.

The funny thing is, that even with moving and not being very good with the diet, etc this weekend, I still fit into a pair of pants that I couldn't wear 2 weeks ago. LOL Must be all the exercise from hauling boxes!!

Ellen congratulation!! The best exercise that I have found is Walk away the pounds. You can walk a mile in 15 minutes. These tapes are wonderful.

congrats and what a goal to work for!!!
I got married last sept and lost an incrediable amount of weight before hand, the month prior to the wedding it just dropped of, I think all the running around and stress helped. After the wedding I put loads on and I am now working to get it back of. You can and will do, good luck for everything.
Savour every moment of the day, it goes so quick!!

Best of luck

Well, my friend is making my dress, and the pattern we bought is for size 18-22 I am in a size 22 now, but I am hoping to be in an 18 by the wedding. Angie says she can take the seams in as many times as I need her to. LOL

I got an e-mail today saying "only 142 days to go" they were trying to sell me something. LOL THAT kind of stressed me out. I didn't need it broken out into days JUST yet. LOL

I am having some stress, but mostly it is the good kind. Getting used to having him around all the time is the big thing for me. I don't remember the last time I just sat and read a book in the evening.....I am always going and doing something now.

Hi,

Dropped in to say congratulations! Now on to other things, you were talking about exercise.
I get up every other day at 5:00AM to walk for a half hour with my dog.
Seriously, this is the ONLY way to avoid the heat!!!! Its just getting light outside, its like you are the only person in the world and its the best time to think:-)
When the weather is cooler and I can walk later in the day the other
couple days I will walk in the afternoon.

Also, WHO says you have to wear a tent for your wedding?? Pushing yourself mentally over it wont do any good and if your guy is great with the weight you are and fine with you loosing, then does the number by then really matter?
I got married just over 3 years ago and I was 500 pounds!!! I did NOT
wear a mumu but a beautiful gown, it had a waist, was royal blue with
beautiful lace dripping all over it and a sheer jacket to go over.
Everyone was impressed with the dress and I felt like a queen:-)
It was about 350.00 and was through "Love My Peaches" I sent them my exact measurements and picked the dress, they were fantastic!
Lots of phone support. Unfortunatly I don't know if they are still in business but check the internet for places that work in supersized clothing for special occasions.
Hey the only people that should wear those goofy poofy white gigs should be an 18 year old girl with her virginity intact *haha* so don't
limit yourself in styles and colors.
Just a few words from..............

http://www.yosa.com/catalog/fantasy/lily-renn1wb.jpg This link will take you to a picture of the dress. We are using White satin for the Chemise, and Antique Winter Velvet for the Great Coat and Cape.

My son and I went for a walk last night, and I decided to check out the little park near my house. Turns out there is a swimming pool there, but it is only open until the 23rd. So I am going to go swimming tonight.

Also, I applied for a library card so I can go check for those videos.

Thanks for all of the encouragement and advice. I don't know what I would do without you guys!!!
