I have been checking into this group and getting lots of good
information and some good training ideas. Instead of just
lowering portions I want to try lowering my daily carb intake.
Does anyone have any good web sites on low carb & sites that
list portions and types of food with carbs? The sites I have
searched out have not been productive. I know potatoes , rice
, and breads are no no's but what else is included. I have
started looking at labels and am shocked that my Shredded
Wheat and Cherrio's are loaded with carbs. Also I am
Hypoglycemic. I rarely have any problems with it but are there
any considerations I should look at when going low carb?

TIA

Are you diabetic and taking insulin? You might want to check
out the diabetes newsgroups, alt.support.diabetes, etc. In any
case, Dr Atkins is one of the low carb gurus, although I don't
have a URL handy - a google search should bring up his site. I
think Bernstein is another.

Basically carbs are high in starchy foods, which you have
mentioned,
i.e., anything cereal-based, and in fruits and anything with
added sugar, of course. Most vegetables and salad items
are low in carbs though.

Was. He's dead.
