I've seen some folks ask about this. i hope my review may
prevent the kind of trouble i'm having with this machine.
my advice: DON"T buy the treadclimber. here's as short as i
can make this:
1. it costs 2400 bucks and is a major pain to assemble. don't
believe them when they say it's "Easy". it ain't.
2. ours was shipped w/a faulty back panel which caused high
pitched screeching noises. we had to wait a week to get
another one.
3. it worked fine for about 40 days, and yes, the workout is
very good. but then it started throwing error messages and
stopping whenever it went over 3.0 MPH. i called customer
service; they said it needed recalibration. did that. still
didn't work right.
4. another call to customer service and they said "oh you need
a new speed sensor...we'll send you one right away". ME:
"does it come
w/installation directions?" THEM: "no, but it's easy."
5. five days later, no part. i called them back. guess what?
the guy "forgot" to send it to me. now it's been over a
week since the machine's been down. they overnight the part
to me and assure me that if this doesn't fix it, they'll
send out a tech.
6. after three days of the machine working, it started
throwing the same error message again. after a chat
w/customer service, they don't know WHEN someone will come
out to fix this machine. they contract out to a service
company, so now i'm the hands of yet another organization.
Bottom line: customer service SUCKS for this machine; and
quality control SUCKS. I'd wait at least a couple years for
them to work the bugs outta this one. I wish i could go back
in time and buy something else. I'll certainly NEVER purchase
anything from Nautilus ever again.
Caveat emptor gang.
