I just did a search for something unrelated to the above topic, but ended up finding a thread from earlier this year on Weight Watchers. I found myself in tears actually when I read what others had to say.

I joined WW in Sept.99 weighing 107kg. In about 15 months I managed to lose about 33kg, but from then on it was a battle and I have gained back about 12 or 13 kg. In the last 3 1/2 or so years my whole life has been about tracking, planning, counting points, all to no avail. I must have rejoined four times and spent countless $$ on memberships, gizmos, cookbooks and magazines that really got me nowhere. I have a whole website dedicated to my progress and to the programme and many others were inspired by me to join WW. After a day researching the LC way of life, I am wondering if I have wasted the last few years on something that can never work in the long term for the greater majority of us.

I have yet to even begin my LC WOL but tomorrow is the beginning, and I will give it my best shot. I just got so brainwashed by WW that I honestly never believed there could be another weight loss method that was healthy, and would suit my tastes and lifestyle.

I am just so glad there are forums such as these, where consumers can speak honestly about what has, and hasn't worked for them with weight loss.

It is VERY hard for me to get my head around the low fat issue, so ingrained in me it has become. And I am sure I am not alone in thinking that way.

So watch this space, and we'll see how a WW devotee can actually find her way to a healthy weight at last. Or not.

Hi. Just wanted to wish you "good luck" with this LC way of eating. Like you, I have been with WW for countless years and it did take me a while to get my head around a lot of issues with the Atkins diet. Eggs, cheese, cream - OMG!! Watch me now tho, I love this diet (as does my doctor). If I can help in anyway, please just yell. All the best for your Induction phase - I found the first 3 days the hardest, from then on it was plain sailing!
Cheers
Pam

:yay: I am the same, and have read up on all of the aspects of LC and found as advised by Rosebud, that Protien Power is very interesting.
I will be shopping on Saturday for LC and I just know that I will find it hard as I am brain washed.
Keep us posted good to hear fromanother Aus/Nzer :yay:

Hi Pinky, I am an EX WW as well. Like you I must have joined and rejoined 5-6 times, subscribed to the magazines bought the food. I lost 23 kg in one of the attempts - never reached goal (which was ridiculously low) and for the most part kept the weight off - but to get any lower I felt like I was starving and was certainly miserable! Thought I was doomed to being labelled a "BIG BONED GIRL". If I hear that one more time I'll scream!!!! Anyway been LC for 6 weeks and can't be happier, my skin is better than in years, hair and nails seem healthier, lost the bloated irritable colon symptoms, generally feel brighter and to top it all off RESULTS albeit slowly. Total of 7 inches gone and about 4 kilos. So I wish you well and know that you can kiss WW goodbye forever!
