Does anyone else worry about not eating fruit? I know it's allowed at RM but I never seem to fit it in? Do you think I'm missing out on anything?

Also does anyone know where I could get the fibre contents of various veggies. I want to know which of the CRV's are highest in fibre so I can get off the Metamucil (I hope).

I don't know which are high in fiber, but greens are good. Even with good veggies, you'll need metamucil every once in a while.

This is the time of year for fruit. I am finding that my taste buds are going toward fruit for dessert more and less toward baked goods and chocolates. I think it's a matter of the time of year.

I think as you become more used to CAD, you'll find the same thing. Fruit contains a lot of fiber and you can make a point to include some of your favorites 2 or more times a week. I'm finding that I'm almost starting to crave fruit now. I never think about fruit in the winter!!!

I buy large bags of frozen mixed raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, and mix it with yogourt for dessert sometimes. Makes me feel like I am getting my fruit in. I will eat a piece of fruit after I have eaten dessert as well, and it hasn't had any affect on my weight.
hth :)

Thanks for the link Carol, that gives me some idea of which CRVs to emphasize, I eat alot of lettuce, which has little fibre...will have to eat more spinach salads, etc.

The yogurt fruit mixture sounds like a great dessert idea since I need more calcium as well.

If you get the washed baby spinach, you can't tell the difference from lettuce and it's more nutricious.

WOW...thanks for the reminder! I CAN have my fresh berries and FIGS!! Yippeee... I finally got a fig tree out front with tons of fruit on it, and I was lamenting how it took so many years, and now I can't eat them! But at my RM, I can enjoy to my heart's content.

Silly little obsession...but it was a childhood food...one with lots of memories of my old Italian great-grandmother... PLUS I love them!

Today I was out at the lake with my family. The Saskatoon berries are starting to ripen. It was pretty tough not to shove a mouth full in my mouth in the morning when we found them...I played good mommy and picked them for my kids. After supper I did go back for a quick taste. Looking forward to more. They are cultivated at some farms around town so my MIL will go pick some on Monday and share. Mmm...really looking forward to a bowl with cream and sugar for RM dessert!!!

Fruit is much more to my taste this summer than baked desserts. Yay summer!!!
