Hi, I'm 17...I'd like to lose about ten pounds...I've been on Atkins induction for a month. I've only really lost about one or two pounds.
This is kind of distressing and I was wondering if there was anyone else who didn't have very much to lose that has been on induction for a long time and hasn't noticed any signifigant changes?? I'm pretty sure it just takes time because I don't have very much to lose, but I'd like to know I'm not the only one! Please IM me or email me (look in my profile). Thanks!
Brittany
...As for my exercise routine I usually run one or two or three miles a day and/or a forty-five minute aerobic class and lift weights every few days. Perhaps I am gaining muscle and it's balancing out the fat I'm losing, but I wasn't lifting weights for a while and I didn't lose anything.
I drink hella water...at least 80 oz. a day. I'm pretty sure I eat plenty of fat. Maybe my sodium intake is a little too much...if that's making me retain water; I'll try cutting back. I don't really drink diet sodas and I almost never drink aspartame. Occasionally sugar-free jello which has aspartame. I don't eat more than two ounces of cheese a day. I really try to watch for hidden sugars...I eat the Atkins bars/and shakes about every other day so maybe I'll cut back on those too.
If anyone else has had the same type of experience please tell me...I think it's just going to take me time. I am 120 lbs right now, and I'd like to get down to at least 110 if not more because I have a small frame. I just don't see how I could have high insulin resistance that would make it more difficult for me to lose weight because I'm not overweight and I didn't really eat too bad before Atkins. Sorry for the length of this entry but I'd really appreciate some feedback!! Thank you so much Battousai and Tofi for responding to me!! (I think I'll try moving up to OWL tomorrow now that you said that because I excercise a lot and I need more energy, Tofi)
