Hi everyone. I am on Day 3 of induction and doing really well. I really have to make time to eat something before I take the kids to camp and head off to work. By the time I get here to work- I am about to die I'm so hungry.

Anyway, did anyone experience night sweats during induction? The last 2 mornings I have woken up DRENCHED!! And, not to be gross, but it doesn't smell like my normal sweat. My son came in to snuggle this morning and said "Mommy, your pillow smells yucky". He was right!!

I forgot my Atkins book today so I can't look it up. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Also, I started taking Psyllium Husk capsules yesterday. THe bottle said to start with just one and then increase slowly. Anyone have any advice about this?

Thanks and good low-carb living to everyone!!

I don't know anything about night sweats but I did feel hot, as though I had a fever, during the day, and I used to wake up at night with a racing heart during induction. The metabolic switch is hard on your body.

If the perspiration is smelly, that's a good thing - it means you're in ketosis!

I'm also taking fiber pills, as many as six or eight a day. They don't seem to hurt me (or accomplish their intended purpose, fo rthat matter).

Good luck. Hang in there.

it could be that your blood sugar is dropping low during the night causing night sweats.it used to happen to me.i would wake up drenched and starving.with me, it stopped once i got the used to the diet. try eating a little fat eg- cream before you go to bed.

Thanks for the advice and support. I will try that. I hadn't eaten anything since dinner last night and it makes sense that my blood sugar dropped too low.

Mmmmm... cream...

Thanks again!!

I am only 33 and it just started the night I started low-carbing. I DO have my period right now so that might have something to do with it.

when i first got a night sweat the first thing i thought of was that i was starting menopause so i had a blood test which was fine (i,m 45).with me, my blood sugar does drop down at around the time of my period and this is when i can get anight sweat.i,ve had one now and again at other times but it,s usually because i have not eaten enough.as your problem started when you cut down the carbs i think like me, it could be your bg.iv,e found eating carbs late at night does,nt work, only fat or a small amount of protein. hope this helps.
