I Went on Atkins June 1, dropped 10 lbs during Induction. Blood sugars dropped to low 80's within 3 days. I tried kidding myself Saturday and Sunday at a conference that a couple of doughnuts and some fruit wouldn't hurt. BG skyrocketted to 200 by Sunday night and haven't dropped below 150 since. Went back on Induction Monday AM with the only exception an Atkins muffin (2 carbs each) with my egg for breakfast the past three morning and a piece of spelt bread 12 carbs at lunch today. I upped my distance walking and its not helping. What can I do to get the BG back down quickly where it was?

Drop the muffins and the spelt bread until you get back under control again and stick with just meat and veggies for a while. Isn't it amazing how one indiscretion can cause so much havoc with your blood sugars? A big shot of sugar like doughnuts can make your system overly sensitive for a while.
