In some of the reviews of lc products it says "if you can deduct Maltitol from the count". For what I gather some people cannot deduct those carbs because it affects them differently. How do I know how the affect me? I eat a Strive bar a day and I'm not losing lately. Could it be the bar? Is there a way to determine this or is it just a try cutting the bar and see what happens?
Thanks!

Cutting the bar is the only way. Is it a protien bar, or a candy like bar?

Thanks for your reply, Ladybelle.
Is a protein bar, made of soy, which I've been reading soy has some form of estrogens in it. It is really crunchy and yummy, tastes like a rice krispy treat.
I guess I will try to stay away from those things and stick to the "not processed" foods. But I really need something sweet every day! I don't know if I will ever loose my craving for sweet things. Please tell me there is hope...

fyi...the way I judged whether I could deduct the sugar alcohols was if I ate an entire bar and still managed to stay in ketosis...and I did. Only problem is that malitol does reek havoc with my digestive tract IF I eat more than 1 serving at a time. Chocolate Candy seems to hit me the worst - Carbolite especially.

Yvonne326--
I just wanted to say congrats on your progress! I am new to the board, and also do low carb/ low fat & Curves 5-6 days a week.(I do the Curves diet plan, combining the 2 diets). I haven't seen anyone else on the board that does low carb/low fat, and was just feeling a little "out of place". Glad to know you're out there.
