This weekend we had a benefit and I was so stressed I grabbed a candy bar :( Than at the supper I had roast pork with bun :(
Than I was carbin and craving sugar so bad on monday I had a snicker bar. and it has just gone on from there. I feel so guilty I got on the scale Monday and it showed I gained a lb :(. I need to get back on track and stop this rollercoaster I am so angry at myself for slipping. Damn me anyway

its not Failure if you get back on track!!! Failure is letting it get the better of you and quitting

I have said to many people on here the number one secret to my low carb sucess is never giving up...I have fallen off the wagon so many times...but got back on track and continued on this journey

So...try and remember how lousy it feels to see that scale up and have those snacky carby cravings

I cheated this past weekend and wnet from 136.5 to 142 boy that should teach me...still trying to learn that lesson

But I'm back on trcak as I'm sure you are too!!!!!!

this may sound silly but it works great for me and keeps me from feeling like cheating.
I make sure to do a few things.
Before I go somewhere where I may be presented with lots of cheaty food or with stress that could lead to cheaty eaty I EAT before I leave the house. I eat a lot so I am good and full. Almost a bit too full and although this is not a good regularly it works for me in situations like the one you mentioned.
Also I take food with me. An actual lunch bag complete with delicious cheese and maybe some veggies and a protein drink and maybe the somersize version of what is going to be served there(like at the last staff luncheon I made sure to bring a big container of my own ss coleslaw) and plenty of ice packs to keep things cool and appealing. Then I eat it on the way there or when I get there (or both!) while everyone else is munching. This has saved me many times.
and the last thing that really helps is that I don't let myself get hungry. I used to feel very virtuous when the hunger pains would come, like now I am going to lose weight cause I am burining the body butter. But I make sure to eat as soon as ss quidelines say I can! satisified is a lot better than virtuous for me lol!
my husband has a method that works for him too.zpiloc sanwich bags in his truck so that he can order fast food and go bunless.

just some thoughts...
and don't worry you are already back on track just by writing the post!

That's great advice and not at all silly, kacey! I find that I'm far less likely to cheat if I'm full, too. One of the things that this WOE is teaching me is to not eat unnecessarily, i.e. when I'm not hungry. Good habit to get into.

 It's the long run that counts, not the daily stuff. Just clamber back up and keep on going like everyone says. Failure is an awful word... drop it from your vocabulary!

The keeping yourself full and taking food along with you works for me too. Especially the taking snacks part. I take SF sodas and a baggie full of pork rinds or veggies and dip to parties where there will be chips and alcohol etc. I take a couple of pieces of fruit and a few SF hard candies in my truck wherever I go so if I'm out longer than I think I'll be ok. Even a baggie of nuts or a very low carb cookie are better than snickers bars and other hard core junk, so even if they are a little funky, USE THEM! And don't forget water. You'd be amazed how well a tummy full of water can keep your apetite under control.

Hang in there, you'll tame that tiger eventually. :daze: We all fall off the wagon sometimes, like Rebecca says.
