hi, im attempting to tone my body and get rid of the small
tyre on my gut. Im happy with my muscle size although a little
more all over wouldnt hurt. Basically, as Ive started a series
of healthy eating, aerobics and arm weights + ab crunches, Im
finding that I am a lot hungrier now. I am eating a lot of
healthy meats/veges/fruit and some carbs/oils(allergic to
dairy/gluten).

Is it best that I pig out so much as my body will burn it all
and I will get toned? I mean, it is healthy food after all.

or should I try to slow my eating down and suffer a little
hunger to get the "cut" look?

thanks jason

Jason, I have been asking myself the same question for a
while. One thing I've learned is that I can't take staying
hungry all morning/afternoon.

So I try to distribute what I was planning to eat for lunch
troughout the day. I've also introduced protein bars in my
daily diet. They are a lot more filling than prepared shakes
for an equivalent amount of cals.

I'm eager to read what others have to say about it.

Try feeding yourself well before you train. I'm trying to eat
a small breakfast to tide me over until lunch, then eat quite
large midday meal, which tides me over until the early
evening, when I do about 50-60mins of aerobics. I then eat a
little bit afterwards if I'm feeling hungry, but usually
nothing other than a fruit juice or two.

The theory is that I'll be burning more fat in the
exercise that way, since my sugar levels will be
comparatively low by then.

I'll let you know if it works - come back in 6 months!

in this case its calories in,(Eating)

verses calories burnt (exercise)

There are "tricks" to dieting and calorie free food to take if
you wish to over come hunger such as calorie free jelly (see a
dietitian for proper advice)

Drinking water before each meal (avoid sugar these are unless
calories and can cause the body to eat even more)

My web site has reasonable diet advice

jason, Why not fill up on roughage as part of your diet- lots
of green vegetables in a salad (grind up if you don't like
the taste? R

I did lose a good chunk of weight for martial arts this way--i
ate all i wanted but i was eating "healthy." Avoiding sugar,
saturated fats, etc.

I am trying it again, to get cut--lots of cardio and eating
all the healthy food i want. But it seems to be harder this
time and i'm putting more effort into it. I've cut out beer,
white breads, etc. I'll see how it goes.

How old were you the first time around, and how old are
you now? Weight loss gets harder as you get older, for
various reasons.
