Hello,

I'm going to visit my great grandmother in Vancouver soon. She's a diabetic, and has recently been asking me to find a no sugar version of a certain treat she used to like when she was younger.

Does anyone know where I can find a sugar free version of those almonds with the colored sugar coating that people give at weddings? In french I believe they're called "dragees". I could have sworn I saw them sold online once, but I can't for the life of me seem to find them again.

Help?

ZoeM,

In the US they are called Jordan Almonds; I did a quick search and found www.bigskycandy.com/sugarfree.htm. They had sugar free Jordan almonds for $4.75 for half a pound. There was another site, www.mtmanbranson.com, email info~mtmanbranson.com that said they carried them, but were temporarily out of stock. Their Jordan Almonds were $7.95 a pound, so you might want to find out if they would have them in time for you.

There were other sites; I did a Google search for Sugar Free Jordan Almonds, so try that if these two sources don't work out.
