Anyone notice that Metformin knocks you out of ketosis? I still lost 5 lbs in 5 days on it, but no longer show any color on my keto sticks?

Anyone have this happen?

Trust me...I am under 20 carbs a day!!!

Don't worry about it, it doesn't mean you are out of Ketosis, only that you don't have enough ketones to show up in urine.

Do you still have the weird taste in your mouth? If so, that's ketone breath. Besides that, if your blood glucose testing meter shows lowers numbers than before, you are doing it right!

Good luck, 5 pounds is 5 days is great btw!!

I take Metformin as well and it does not seem to knock me out of ketosis. That being said, I've not lost weight for a while although my BGL has normalized.

Don't get too hung up on those test strips. Results can vary depending on when you ate, how mjuch fat you ate and the amount of water you've been drinking.

Congrats on the 5 pounds!
