Hi everyone! I am very new to this and also very excited to get started. Is it possible to stay on blood pressure meds. and still loose weight. Or should I ask my doctor if I can be weened off of them. Pressure goes up and down . Any help would be greatly appreciated.... :)

Atkins has a tendency to lower your blood pressure , so I'd definately tell your Dr. you are eating this way so he will be able to keep a closer monitor on your BP. You may find you'll not need meds anymore. Some people are able to stabilize theirs after Atkins without medication. Good luck to you!

Yes you will loose weight even on BP meds. I lost 35 lbs. After about a month or so I no longer needed the med., (and my pressure had been sky high before), so it is good to tell your DR. that you are low carbing, and maybe she could check you in about a month. I had BP kit at home and monitored it myself too, I lost weight as fast as any regular Low Carber not on meds, Good news huh!!
