hmmm, alright, where's the sunshine? Love the cooler weather...whew that humidity was killing me that we here in Orillia was experiencing. Sure hope it stays cooler for a few days.
Yep, Happy Canada Day to my Canadian Neighbours!

Here on the east coast we are fogged in with high humidity and rain with intermittent thunder showers:( .. Fredericton plans a big block party to celebrate the festivities with a parade and the evening ending in fireworks and a lighted boat parade
...sure hope the weather clears so the activities will
proceed...very disappointing for the kids...young and old alike ;)

Wa'il! That's a riot! :D
At 8:30 in the morning, it's a bit overcast here in Vancouver, but there is sun coming in from the south , or clouds departing to the north depending on how you look at it.
I'm bringing a fresh tuna, egg, cherry tomato and asparagus salad to a firework viewing pot-luck. I live a stone's throw away from where the fireworks are taking place.

Oh, right, fireworks! Forgot about them....
I'm not doing anything in particular....I'll head over to the gym when I've finished my coffee. Then I have work to do at home. I start teaching on Tuesday, and I'm a bit anxious about that. I also have marking for an online course I'm tutoring. Oh, and laundry! Gee, doesn't that sound like an exciting way to spend the day?
I think I'll also go for a long walk in the park - it's turning out sunny, Karen, just as you predicted!

I keep hearing rumours and weather reports that it's "cooled off" in southern Ontario, but it seems to have by-passed Kingston. .. .. at the present time, it's hot and muggy still, black looming skies and downpouring rain alternating with overcast and haze. I don't do crowds, so will be avoiding the downtown area and the Harbourfront ... I think Rachel's idea of a hike or long walk in quiet place sounds perfect.
Hmm, just surveying the skyline, do I see a sliver of blue sky?? Now, if we could just get those cooler temperatures, it would be perfect.
My balcony affords me a perfect view of the fireworks that'll be sent off this evening ... so I won't have to deal with traffic snarls and hundreds of thousands of people (yes!) - the Limestone City - is jammed with tourists for the Tall Ships races, which are taking place this afternoon.
Happy Canada Day to all!

I cleaned my apartment all day long (amazing how much upkeep a small space needs, but then I've got two cats), and then went to dinner with friends. My Canada Day participation came when a lively group at the front of the restaurant rose up, joined hands over their heads and sang Oh Canada in boisterous not-quite-in-unison (and a bit of variation in wording). The whole restaurant was smiling at this unusually outgoing show of emotion, but we gave them a round of applause. Americans on this board will probably think this quite strange, but that's just us. The younger folks I'm glad to see are more open and demonstrative about their feelings for Canada. For all of us, it's not showy but it's really deep and abiding.

I for one am very glad that we as Canadians are finally starting to be more vocal and more proud of our country. Just look south to our American friends, and see how nationalistic they are, and I am glad that we are starting to do the same. Mind you, some of
it is fuelled by certain beer commercials (Molson Canadian), but if it makes us stand up and be proud to be Canadian, so be it!
I am CANADIAN, and would live nowhere else.
BTW - it is 17 degrees in Richmond Hill, and that sure beats the cruddy humid 30 degree weather we were getting last week
Happy Canada day all, and continued low carb success.
