Hi Everyone,

I have been on Atkins for almost a couple of months now. And it has been great, no more headaches and bloating, plus eating really well.

My only problem is that my skin has got worse. I have never really had pimples before and now I am breaking out. I am drinking a lot of water and am having no major upheavals in my life at the moment.

I have read that peoples skin has improved remarkably on this diet - any one else had the reverse like me. Any advice would be great

thank you

Geri

I, like many others have seen GREAT results as far as my skin goes. BUT at first, when I was eating a lot of FRIED meats instead of baking, boiling, etc, my skin was not that great.

Dear Geri!

Did you have this problem the whole time or just recently?? My skin improved almost overnight in the beginning of month 3. But this could also be an allergy. Any new foods you've added?
I think this is just hormonal and will pass by itself.
Hugs

Hi Geri,

If you do a search here for "pimples," "acne" or "zits" you'll find quite a few threads where other people have had a similar problem.

It is definitely hormonal. Oestrogen lives in fat cells, so as we shed fat, our hormones get messed up.

Yet another reason for you to consider gaining a little weight instead of trying to lose more. ;)

Wow I guess that would explain the third eye, I have had for 1 week now, not to mention the oily face, I did have dry skin before I started the Atkins plan.

Hi,

Alina - only just started happening in the last week, I have been eating a lot of Brazil nuts, haven't eaten anything different.

Maybe it is just hormonal and will pass...

Rosebud - will have a look at the other threads and I am not trying too lose any more just eating well and maintaining :)

Javy - we do a lot of BBQ so not much fried food but I will keep it in mind.

thanks for the tips everyone

Geri
