Hi Everyone,
I did a search but got no results although i am sure this question will have been answered.

I need to quit, I used Nicotinell lozenges 1 mg sugar free, and they worked before, I started again foolishly 6 months later.

I am trying to keep to under 20 cabs a day, and I need to know how the lozenges will afect my Carb count, or cause a stall?

The ingrediants include aspartme(amount not specified) and 9.8 mg sodium.(seems a load of sodium!!) per lozenger.

Has any one else used these whilst LC, or should i go for patches, but can't really afford them at present?

Thanks for all your advice.

Graeme

Hi Graeme,

I can't really comment on the lozenges because I didn't use them to quit. I did try the gum, which was awful, so I used the patches. I found that I only needed them for about a month though.

However, you say you can't afford the patches - work out how much you spend on cigarettes each week, then work out the equivalent cost of the patches - you won't be using both, and I think you'll find the patches will work out cheaper than the cigs

Why not register at Quitnet (http://www.quitnet.com/) = it's a great website (with forum) which you should find to be a great help with the quitting process.

Good luck, you can do it :D

Hi Demi,
thanks for the reply, you are so right about me moaning about the cost of patches and not considering the cost of all those ciggs.

Thanks for puting it into prospective, and I will go down the patch root, hopefully soon.

Graeme.

I bought these all natural pills on the internet called final smoke. The site is finalsmoke.com

Previously I have tried everything...patches, pills and just about anything I could. They would all work for a short amount of time. With these pills I have not touched a cigarette in over a year. This was a very major accomplishment for me and I still cannot believe that I have done it.

Good Luck!

I quit January 5 and did it with accupuncture. Cost is minimal $150.00 for 3 treatments. Monday, Wed & Friday treatment. After Wednesday the urge to smoke is almost gone, and by Friday it is gone. Easy and quick. I dont really understand how it works but it worked for me. Good luck in quitting - will be one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Congratulations Graeme!!!

I will be here to lend any support that I can. When I stopped smoking it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. It took me about 5 times before I finally stopped. Good Luck to you.

Congrats to you!! Haven't seen an 'oops' post from you so I'll assume you're still going strong! I just quit this morning (using Zyban and patch) and so far so good.

Scary, huh???

Congrats Nicole,

I am sure that if you can get through the first 72 hours it will be all downhill. I will be here if you need support. Like I said before when I stopped smoking it was the hardest thing I have ever done.

Good Luck
